CDTP scheme envisages  providing non formal, short term, job oriented skill development programmes, through AICTE approved  Polytechnics, to various sections of the community,  particularly  the rural  unorganized  and disadvantaged sections  of the  society and  enable them to obtain  gainful self or wage employment.  Duration of training usually ranges two to five months. These courses are offered by the Polytechnics in our premises, as well as through extension centres set up in nearby locations, from where, these courses can be offered to the local community.  No fee is charged from the trainees is under this scheme and there is no restriction of age and qualification of the trainees.

Skill development Training Programme

Skills and knowledge are the driving force of economic growth and social development for any country. India currently faces a severe shortage of well-trained, skilled workers.  Large sections of the educated workforce have little or no jobs skills, making them largely unemployable. Therefore we must focus on scaling up skill training effort to meet the demands of employers and drive economic growth. Skill training initiatives and combines the scale and quality of skilling effort.

CDTP, Government Polytechnic College, Pala

Government Polytechnic College, Pala situated at Kanattupara, 3 k.m away from Pala, Kottayam District.  College has been approved by AICTE, offers Diploma courses and other Central Government approved courses.  Community Development Through Polytechnics (CDTP) sponsored by Ministry of  Human Resource Development (MHRD), Govt. of  India, under the flagship of Govt. Polytechnic college, Pala since 2009.  During this period Govt. Polytechnic College, Pala, toiled hard for the accomplishment of the project targets.  Training programs towards the field of skill development and other functional areas for the beneficiaries are appreciated.  Under the scheme presently 11 extension centres are operated.
